Flea comb comes in handy and the small teeth of this comb will help to remove flea from the hair of your cat.

What You Need To Do:

  • Just comb your cat everyday with flea comb at least once in a day or each time your cat comes in from outdoors to prevent infestations.
  • Place flea comb in the solution of mild lemon scented dish soap with a cup of warm water and comb your cat.
  • Check the comb after each stroke and remove egg, larva by dipping the comb in water.
  • When the comb do not catches any fleas then bath your cat thoroughly. Repeat this process twice in a day to remove fleas completely.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar:

Apple cider vinegar is not only effective in treating all types of skin and health issues in humans, but it is also helpful in  preventing fleas from your cat easily. It doesn’t kill the fleas on your pet, but it makes them to jump off from your pet easily.

What You Need To Do:

  • You just need to mix equal parts of apple cider vinegar with water. Pour this mixture in a spray bottle and spray this on your pet every day.
  • You can even add few drops of any essential oil to this mixture to work more effectively.
  • You can also spray this solution on wooden floors, furniture’s, carpets and other places where you may suspect fleas. Do it regularly to prevent them completely.

3. Dish Soap:

Liquid dish soap is effective in killing fleas on your cat and is particularly good for kittens.

What You Need To Do:

  • Take a bath tub and fill it with warm water by adding little amount of dish soap. Help your cat to sit in the bath tub for 10-15 minutes.
  • The fleas will simply fall off from the cat when you rinse them with soapy solution.
  • Repeat this twice or thrice in a week to prevent them completely.

4. Flea Collar:

Flea collar is another effective way to protect your cat from these tiny insects. You can get two types of flea collars in the market, one helps to kill fleas and the other is used to release a substance that seeps through the fatty layers of the cat skin and make them fall off easily.

What You Need To Do:

  • All you need to do is put flea collar around your cats neck and if you don’t want to use chemical one then make a natural version.
  • For this, you want a nylon or cotton pet collar. Pour little amount of vodka mixed with one drop of geranium essential oil and let it dry.
  • Refresh the collar weekly, cut the collar into four pieces and place them under your pet’s bed to get rid of fleas in bedding as well.

5. Lemon:

The acidic nature and citric acid in lemon helps to kill fleas easily. It helps to get rid of flying fleas and avoid the eggs that have been laid on your pet.

What You Need To Do:

  • Cut 2 lemons into slices and keep them in a pan of water.
  • Boil this water for few minutes and turn off the heat and let it steep overnight.
  • Strain the solution in the morning and pour it in spray bottle.
  • Spray this solution on your pet and comb thoroughly using a flea comb.
  • Repeat it as much as necessary.
  • You can also add one cup of lemon juice for washing your cats bedding to prevent any fleas that are still left over.
